Beacon Makers Market is a consciously curated outdoor market featuring small batch makers and artists of all kind. Our mission is to connect makers directly to the community. We do not charge an any fees or take a commission of sales. This event is free to both vend and attend.
We value handmade goods. All items for sale must be handcrafted by the maker or vintage (meaning 20+ years old). We do not allow imports or re-sale items that are not vintage. We prefer items that are Mississippi made, locally grown, sustainable, eco-friendly, organic, natural, exhibit unique and original ideas/artwork, etc. All food vendors must comply with all relevant local, state & federal health regulations. Sale of alcoholic beverages is prohibited.
Makers are responsible for all their own set up including tables, chairs, tent (must be weighted + secured), water, etc. Limited power hook-ups available by request, but you must provide your own extension cords/surge protectors and secure them properly. We also offer a limited number of free tents and tables available by request. Each maker's display must fit inside the 10x10 space as marked and not obstruct sidewalks. FA5 set up begins at 3:30 PM in the Fondren Building Parking Lot and the event is from 5-8 PM on the first Thursday every month.
State law requires that all vendors pay sales tax on their revenue from events. It is each individual’s responsibility to make sure that they claim their income and collect sales tax. The Beacon does not require any permits, licenses, or ID numbers nor do we provide any forms or assistance in this matter. You should have a tax ID number and submit the appropriate forms to the Mississippi Department of Revenue.
